CUTTING EDGE

International Education: Issues and trends in theory, policy and practice is the only postgraduate-level course offered in New Zealand that is designed for people working in international education. It aims to increase their understanding of intercultural dynamics so they can provide an improved student experience.

PRACTICAL

This course will provide opportunities for you to take what you’re learning and apply it to your own role in teaching, policy or support. You will learn the theory behind good practice and have the opportunity to share your professional experience.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING

Continue to work full time while you study from anywhere in New Zealand or overseas. This course is taught entirely online using e-readings, video and an online blog.

OPTION TO GO FURTHER

We offer other online courses that will complement this International Education course and allow you to complete a postgraduate qualification.

POSTGRADUATE STUDY IN EDUCATION

 

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION

Victoria University’s postgraduate programme in Education includes the option of studying International Education. The online course International Education: Issues and trends in theory, policy and practice will be offered in Trimester Three, beginning November.

International Education: Issues and trends in theory, policy and practice complements the Faculty of Education’s sector-relevant offerings in educational leadership, teaching linguistically diverse learners, evaluation of education and research methods in education.

POSTGRADUATE QUALIFICATIONS

EDUC 504 International Education: Issues and trends in theory, policy and practice can be taken as part of the following qualifications:

  • Master of Education (180 points)
  • Master of Secondary School Leadership (180 points)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (120 points)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (60 points)

Students may credit up to 30 points from another postgraduate programme with the approval of the Associate Dean.

MODE OF STUDY

Students can choose to complete their postgraduate qualification by distance, face-to-face or a combination of both. Some courses use a blended delivery approach.
